2 Month update

  As a family we have been at Ancla de Amor for about 2 months. During this time The Lord has allowed us to be part of something amazing that he is doing here. As a family we had a hard time adjusting to working with 2 other families. Each family had a different parenting style, each family had different family times and work times, and every family brought a beautiful distinctively different set of spiritual gifts to the Ministry. As time has passed God has also introduced a number of wonderful workers that have displayed Godly examples in times of trials and in the face of problems. At the moment we have 8 locals that are helping us with the day to day operations of the Orphanage. They are assisting with the building projects and Orchard clean up. One of the men that is working with us had not seen his father in 4 years, his father specialized in working with Palm leaves, exactly the work that we needed. We knew ahead of time that this man was not a believer but we felt God prompting us to hire him for the job anyway. This man lived over 9 hours away but the feeling to hire him was so strong that we payed for his bus ticket to the ranch. During the next 2 weeks, the workers on the yard started to talk to him about Jesus Christ, they shared a Bible with him and prayed with him every day after lunch. He was able to reconnect with 3 of his sons that live in the area after 4 years of not seeing them. We watched as God restored relationships in this family and worked on this mans heart daily. In the evenings when the other staff had gone home, we caught him reading the Bible that was given to him. How blessed we were to be able to see Jesus transforming a life right before our eyes. Today he will finish the work that we had hired him for but instead of going home he asked to stay and work with us for one more week before he leaves. How great is our God. The greatest part of this story is the history on this son and father team. When the son was 7 years old, he was transporting illegal substances across the border for his father. His father was part of a large operation dealing in weapons and substances as well. For 15 years they worked together in this business until the son found Jesus Christ. Now 7 years later it is possible that the father is being led to Jesus as well. What a perfect story that was written before any of us were born. I am thankful that Jesus has allowed us to see the story that has developed in this family. The ministry that we are called to is definitely to work with abandoned children but in the process to be able to see God work some miracles is pretty awesome. There is another lady works with us in the kitchen, she has donated groceries and Tortillas to the Orphanage. She has blessed us so much with what she does here for us and her generosity is an example for all of us. 2 Corinthians 8:3 says For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own. What a perfect verse for the helpers that God has provided for Ancla de Amor.  As well as the Ministries God has allowed us to witness here at the Orphanage we also have been doing ministries in other communities.  Last week, we partnered with another church bringing the total to 7.  God is providing us with materials to share with the churches that will help them expand their own childrens ministry.  Ancla de Amor has donated large amounts of fruit to another Pastor that is using the money from selling the oranges to build a church in his community.  Last week was kids day here in Mexico, as a ministry Jen and a couple of the workers went to a small village to do some crafts and Bible stories with the Children.  A team from Montana (you can see them in the photos page) partnered with her and they shared the message of Jesus Christ with over 100 kids.  It is an awesome gift to see how God is using everyone of us here and we are thankful to be part of his plan.  We would also like to thank everyone that has supported us as families personally and for those that have supported the ministry as well. We currently have some struggles purchasing all the groceries we need for day to day operations. God knows what we need, when we need it and his timing is perfect, please join us in seeking his will for this situation. Please also pray for the team that will arrive on Monday. They will be a huge answer to prayer and a great blessing. Thank you all for your support. Now to him that is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)

What an amazing story! So glad to hear that great things are happening there. I am sure that there will be many opportunities for you all to share God's love and to hear God's promptings!
