Blessings, Blessings And More Blessings... That About Sums Up Our Summer at Ancla de Amor!

Where do we begin...

God is good and we are so very thankful!

In June we welcomed our new full-time cook, Marilyn. We have known Marilyn for years so it has been wonderful to have her join our team. . She has loads of experience cooking for large crowds and does it with complete ease.

At Ancla we follow a rather regimented schedule to keep things running smoothly and Marilyn is always able to provide delicious meals at the scheduled times. But it doesn’t end there. She willingly helps with responsibilities outside of the kitchen too.

In July we welcomed Janeth to our team full-time.God has gifted Janeth with many talents and we are happily putting all those gifts to use here at Ancla. She is bilingual so we have given her the responsibility of being our liaison with government officials. She also provides administrative assistance to Brian, plus helps with child-care when needed.

Janeth has a bright smile that displays the joy of the Lord in her heart. Without a doubt, the biggest blessing she has brought to Ancla is her ability to bond so well with the older children. Our kids have opened their hearts to her. They have shared their personal stories of hurt and pain allowing more healing to take place. And she has been able to mentor them in their walk with Jesus.

Does It Get Any Better Than That?

This is why we are here. This is what God has called us to do here at Ancla de Amor. This is what we here in Mexico and many of you back in Canada and the U.S.A. are praying for... that these young lives will know the love of Jesus and the healing power of God to transform them and make them new.

God is answering our prayers! And we are all so excited to be a part of the work He is doing in the lives of these children.

But The Blessings Don’t End There...

That was only June and July.  God gave us a double blessing in August.

First a New Passenger Van!

We have more kids in school this year and our big bus burns a lot of gas so a more economical vehicle to transport the kids was needed. Children of Hope, our umbrella organization, graciously purchased us a “nearly new” passenger van. A reliable, safe vehicle in the desert is truly a God-send. No more wondering when the next break-down will be. So, we want to say a big thank you to everybody at Children of Hope!

Second, an Industrial Juicer

The final blessing of the summer came very recently. We have had on our website prayer list, a request for an industrial juicer to make our orange juice. Last year we had twice the harvest, which meant many hours juicing by hand. Although we established a very efficient system it still can’t come close to what a top of the line industrial juicer can achieve.

And “top of the line” is exactly what a total stranger donated! A friend of ours sat beside this kind, gentlemen on an airplane and shared the Ancla story, having no idea what would later come of that conversation. God put on this man’s heart a desire to help us. And that he did. What a true blessing!

It is so beautiful to see how God works in ways that we never expect.

God loves to surprise us so that in the end we know, without a doubt, that the blessing is always a God-thing and not something we conjured up ourselves. He wants to receive all the credit He so rightly deserves.

“Every good action and every perfect gift is from God” James 1:17a (NCV)

Summer is over and now we are looking ahead to the next season. In October some of our team willbeontheroadinCanadatofundraise. We continue to turn away children because we simply have no room. So we are building a new house this winter.

“My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:19 (NIV)

We already have some of the finances and one construction team to make this happen. But more is needed. So we are asking God for even more blessings.

God started Ancla de Amor and that’s just it... He has only just started. The vision He has given us goes far beyond where we are right now. He has so much more to do.

We are so thankful for the faithful support we receive from each of you. God is using each of us to fulfill His plan for Ancla de Amor. Ultimately all glory and praise goes to Him!

“Always give thanks to God the Father for everything” Eph. 5:20a (NCV)
